Wyneken – a content-oriented text processor

If you want to publish your own e-zine, or you are a student who wants to prepare presentation or a report, then you should definitely try out Wyneken. It is a content-oriented text processor that makes your life as a student easier by allowing you to create and manage digital notebooks.

Quotation.Wyneken is a content-oriented text processor that makes your life as a student easier by allowing you to create and manage digital notebooks. Wyneken also allows you to create PDF presentations, letters, articles, and reports. Wyneken creates highly professional documents in PDF, DVI, HTML, RTF, and Ascii Text. Wyneken is not WYSIWYG but instead uses a very easy to learn markup which allows you to focus more on the content of your document rather than your document layout. It is built on top of LaTeX for professional looking documents.

The application makes it easy to add table of contents, bibliographies, and indexes to your documents. If you’ve been wanting the benefits of LaTeX or an advanced document system but don’t want to deal with a steep learning curve, give Wyneken a shot.

Wyneken.

The software requires GTK+ version 2.4.x. Other dependencies include LaTeX, PyGTK, latex2rtf, hevea, python-2.3.x, gnome-python, latex-beamer, sqlite, pysqlite, gtksourceview, pygtksourceview, and python-imaging. There’s to many requirements, I think. This is probably the most important disadvantage of this application.

Anyway, if you want to try out Wyneken, visit its homepage.
